I think there may be an algorithm whereby after you've thrown a certain amount of money at a 'pack' they allow you to get a main character or more. Otherwise she saves up 60 gems by doing various tasks and gets one shot at it which tends to be disappointing. My 10 year old loves being on it but gets hysterical when I allow her $10 for 6 tries at a 'pack' - like Beauty & the Beast and she just gets like 5 pieces of the same furniture and maybe one character she didn't want. If this app were more honest - if, for instance, like other apps you just paid like $10/month and everything came with it - or if even you could pay $10 and it would just give you a group of characters then I could see recommending it for it's creativity.
